Mocean Worker is the pseudonym of Adam Dorn, a bassist, producer, and DJ. He is the son of legendary Jazz producer Joel Dorn. This track is a goofy blend of old-timey jazz riffs and breakbeats, and it's all in the spirit of good clean fun.

an interesting mixture of twenties jazz and some sort of techno/sampling. Unfortunately it lacks the originality of such performers as US 2. Can't say that it fits with the caliber of music I expect of KPLU.
Sure, play it, it's fun. The video is fun too, even though they show bongos played while your hear cowbells. Sounds maybe heavy on synthesized sounds, but still worth a listen.
As a former part-time dance DJ, I am a fan of 'future jazz' that attempts stretching boundaries, yet maintaining the the original art form's integrity. Even though this was a killer dancefloor song, the loops, sampling, et.al. are average at best. Is it KPLU-friendly? Unless the station is incorporating progressive sounds, I can't see it making your playlist.
This particular track doesn't compare with the tracks on "Enter the Mowo!" which I bought recently after learning about Mocean Worker on Morning Edition. I recommend it very highly. I think it's wonderful that KPLU is considering electronic music along with classic jazz, as I'm a huge fan of both.
