I personally would prefer California to not be on the defensive. To maybe even "put the rest of the country in its place." They can complain all they want about "kooky California." As they sip a nice Cabernet and watch a Hollywood movie on their laptop over their high-speed Internet connection. All thanks to California.
So maybe California's tag line should be directed at the rest of the nation:
California. You're welcome.

Yea right. Massive sprawling ugly housing developments, strip malls,
shopping centers, pavement everywhere...and the lifestyle is total narccisim. Sorry. Not something I'M proud of. Embarassed might be more like it. Once the most beautiful state in the nation is an horrible
geography of nowhere eyesore.
ARE YOU A CORPORATON? COME RAPE OUR STATE!!
California? Yes. You're right. It's a myth worth destroying.
My teenage daughter, visiting me in CA from her home in England, said, as we drove through Silicon Valley on the way to my house from the airport, "How come the houses are so ugly over here?" Thank God I live near Yosemite, have a worthy home I built myself, and can't see the ugly houses of my neighbors - mercy of the forest around me. If you really want to see ugly, head for Modesto - a Spanish named city whose obvious translation exaggerates what they have made of their city. Tract housing should be outlawed by imposing huge taxes on copycat houses - payed by the developers.
I was thinking along the lines of tongue-in-cheek, like "surfing sucks", or "skateboarding sucks". "California sucks". Redwoods, beaches, Yosemite, bears, condors, high tech jobs, they all suck. You wouldn't like it here. Don't come!

‘Be Water Wise’ or ‘The Eco Place’. Southern California has been seeing a water shortage since 2006. It is time that all Californians became conscious of it and tried to conserve water. A lot of the water that people use come from rivers and over drawing of water is having a negative impact on the river ecosystem. If you go to http://www.bewaterwise.com you will get a better picture of the water situation in Southern California
