On July 1, Utah's new immigration law goes into effect. Among other things, SB 81 requires public employers to use "E-Verify" to confirm the status of a worker before hiring him or her. It's a change that mirrors similar attempts around the country to hold employers increasingly responsible for hiring undocumented workers.
