What I wrote to start this comment has been fragmented by this system. I used to like Bill Maher, but since he has insisted on slamming the religious background of both his parents as the main theme of his presentations, I not only reject his humor, but his very presence on Public TV. I have enjoyed Tavis Smiley for years, but I turned him off immediately tonight. This jerk he had on is not worthy of notice. He rejects not only the heritage of his parents, but also the beliefs of 90% of our population. His ridicule of their convictions does not deserve public exposition. I am not a perfect person, but I am convinced that I owe my existence to a power much higher than any on this Earth, including Bill Maher.
I totally disagree with everything in your post except for its title. Bill Maher is not funny anymore seems all too often true. He often comes across as somewhat arrogant, or egotistical, and sexist (although he appears ignorant about the sexist nature of some of his remarks.) But I continue to watch because he often has interesting guests and topics.
