Re: Listen and discuss
re your article "Gaza in Crisis": Didn't you forget to mention that the
citizens of Gaza/Hamas DECLARED WAR ON ISRAEL???" What is Israel supposed to do, when Hamas won't stop firing rockets at innocent people DAILY, esp toward electric generation stations??? Your writers seem to ignore the facts a little too much to establish credibility, or sympathy for the "Palestinians".

Next, you might consider an article, with real intellectual substance, which examines WHERE the "Palestinians" came from in recent decades (Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, etc - in fact all the ARAB countries. Its rather surprising when even a rather stupid president can see what's happening, and AP and PRI can't.

Re: Listen and discuss
Mr. Tavis Smiley,
When I listened to your program last Saturday on WCLK 91.9 in Atlanta I was pleasantly surprised to hear Connie Rice once again on your show. I loved her Top 10 lists in the past.

Please, please thank her for mentionning Bill Clinton's mistreatment of Sister Souljah during his first campaign. That incident is why I never voted for Bill Clinton and I've been telling people about the incident during this campaign season. I took offense to his actions because he accepted a major invitation from Jesse Jackson to speak at a national event and purposely came to attack Sister Souljah as an example of horrible rap music. His main purpose in doing so was to show white people that he was not afraid of putting Black people in their place. Although he claimed to criticizing the industry, he instead chose to be a bully who attacked a single young Black performer at this event. Also, who accepts an invitation and plans to attack another guest while at the event. It was insulting in so many ways. I remember the whole thing well because I talked with someone who called me from the event several times as this was unfolding. Also, aside from being devestated by the attack, I don't think Sister Souljah's performing career was ever the same after that.

So please, please Mr. Smiley convey my message to Ms Rice. She's the only person I've heard mention the incident besides myself. It was very revealing of then candidate Clinton.

Re: Listen and discuss
Just listened to "Destination Freedom". The story was a great way to protray the history of the Black escort pilots of the 99th then 332nd. Also very much enjoyed the discussion with Lt. Col Mosley. FYI the 99th actually began @ Chanute AB in Rantoul IL in the spring of 1941 where the cadets (who then became the officers of the support group) and then men of the support group were trained. These men then moved to Alabama in the fall of 1941 when the flying training mission began there. So technically, the group known as the Tuskegee Airmen actually began in Chanute IL. There is only one of these original cadets remaining. Col Elmer Jones lives in Arlington VA. To beter understand this the website for this is: http://www..._99th.html I believe the man third from left in the picture is Elmer Jones- -Perhaps you can obtain an interview with Col Jones, his email is K4EUX@aol.com- Also you may wish to speak with the wife or family of the late Col Thompsom (another of those cadets)in Chicago- you might learn of the origin of the concept, the name, the mission, etc of "the Tuskegee Airmen".
Thanks for all that you do to bring us interesting, informative, entertaining programming, especially about some of our history that isn't so well known.

Southamerican governments links with FARC in Colombia
I just listened in The World that the USA representative that got the interpol report that verified links with Colombian FARC and Venezuelan government is really concerned about the links that they have found in the computer files found in a violent attack to Ecuador sovereignity. I am very concerned about this issue that is affecting my country Ecuador and also my brother countries that have a long history of United States policies effects. Who has the word in this issue?, why us smaller countries are always under international reports from Europe and USA avoiding our word? I got a report from the American States Organization (OEA for its name in spanish) saying that they gave no credit to the interpol report about economic links between the Ecuadorian and Venezuelan governments. Im going to translate a paragraph of the communicate and trust that you have a person who can read this whole communicate and makes it part of your sources, because I think it deserves it. This is a very important geopolitical issue since it could be related with the constat soutamerican questioning of USA policies in the region. The report informed also about the anglosaxon media ignoring the OEA pronouncement.

"José Miguel Insulza,OEA's general secretary reported to the Chamber that is in charge of the Western region Issues that there is no supported evidence that links Venezuelan's government with the Colombian rebels.
However Mr. Insulza's affirmation has been ignored for the anglosaxon press."
the link that will take you to the whole report is: information:http://www.inredh.org/noticias/noticias.php?modulo=noticiasleermas&idioma=es&id=194
