As a lifelong listener to Public Radio who happens to be a 54 yr old progressive born and raised in conservative Utah, I was profoundly disappointed to hear of PRI's cancellation of Fair Game.
A year ago I moved to Tucson, AZ finding the public radio offerings so mundane and lackluster that rather than contributing to local fund drives I choose renew and pay for XM satellite Public Radio and listen online.
Among my online stations is KCPW, S.L.C., Utah, the first station I heard a "Fair Game" broadcast. Initially I was put off by the program I have grown to appreciate the unique perspective it offers. Often surprising, unexpected, and unique I have become an avid listener.
I regret PRI's decision. I will continue to support KCPW financially even though I no longer live in the KCPW market. The station has tremendous local programming, daring offerings, great local political coverage, all on a bare bones budget.
