Re: 2009 High School Football Championships
This might be the first time since 94 that a Black Hills Confrence School wins the State 11A Football Title. STM has came so close for so many years.
Its very crazy to imagine a State 11A Title game with out West Central.
I strongly think next seasons 11A title game will be up for Grabs as well. Lot of teams have a lot of players coming back next season.

I am really looking forward to the SDPB coverage. They always do an exceptional job. Mike, Steve, Paul and Craig were great behind the microphone last year. The SDPB camera crew and graphics folks do a great job also. Keep up the great work folks! thank you for bringing these broadcasts to people all across the state. Your hard work is appreciated.

My opinion is that the first game will be the best game of the weekend. Great match up for both teams in my opinion. STM speed against Milbanks awsome DB's...the last big play wins.

Doesn't look like it unless STM can pull off a miracle.

Re: 2009 High School Football Championships
You announcers have to understand that Milbank uses the squib kick every kick off. They are not afraid of the opponents returner.

Re: Re: 2009 High School Football Championships
They use the squib kick because they are afraid of returners...call it "damage control"...it works good most of the time.

Re: Re: 2009 High School Football Championships
Emery/Ethan vs Howard should be the best game of the day. Both teams can put a lot of points on the board. This has a chance to be a classic!

Great game TV and Winner...exactly how the game should be played..hard hitting and to the wire! Almost a shame there had to e a loser...Maybe we could have an underdog sweep in the dome this year.

Hanson-Avon game
I grew up in Avon and got to teach and coach there for a few years, so I'm a Pirate in my heart and I always hate to see them lose, but Hanson deserves congratulations. Hanson played an excellent, almost perfect game, and Haskamp, Letcher, and Doyle were incredibly classy with their comments after the game. It takes a lot of heart to turn a season around like they did.

Congratulations, Hanson.

Re: 2009 High School Football Championships
At the end of the winner vs. tri-valley game; did the ball, that was passed by Wonnenberg to Horstman, tip off of Horstman's hands or the defender's?
