Green car technology is urgent! That is why no news report is complete without Aptera's hybrid. It is the greenest car ever. Aptera.com will be selling a 300 mpg hybrid later this year.

How online travel sites are scamming travelers. Personally I was victim of a legitimate "reputable" online travel site. They tried to scam me 1254.95 U$D and failed miserably. Just look for "***** complaints" in Google or Yahoo. ***** might be any of the "big guys" in the travel industry and you will find hundreds of complaints. What are authorities and the media doing to alert and protect travelers?

Can you talk about communities across the World that have successfully converted waste to energy and report on the economic and environmental benefits to that community?
Apropos of your thread on Mexico's narco wars, how about a series on how trade in illicit drugs actually operates, who pays, and who benefits? Look at one drug at a time; pot, coke, meth, oxy, and contrast to booze and tobacco. This might take you into dicey areas, such as how high drug profit margins drive out legitimate enterprises and how respectable financial institutions countenance and even solicit drug money. You can count the successes of the 80-year-old war on drugs with a few fingers; its failures and costs run into six figures and a lot more. Question why we need to keep doing things this way, and if we do, who will gain what.
I would like to know what people think of these Exutive orders of the Presedent of the United States.
E.O. #13010 - Turns the job of the Presidency over to the Military.
E.O. 10995 - Seizure of all communications media in the U.S. by the Federal Government.
E.O. #10997 - Seizure of all electric power, fuels, and minerals, both public and private by the Federal Government.
E.O. #10998 - Seizure of all food supplies and resources, public and private, all farms and farm equipment by the Federal Government.
E.O. #10999 - Seizure of all means of transportation, including personal cars, trucks, or vehicles of any kind and total control over all highways, seaports and water ways by the Federal Government.
E.O. #11000 - Seizure of all American people for work forces under federal supervision, including the splitting up of families if the government has to.
E.O. #11001 - Seizure of all health, education and welfare, facilities both public and private by the Federal Government.
E.O. #11002 - Empowers the Postmaster General to register all men, women, and children in the Federal Government.
E.O. #11003 - Seizure of all airports and aircraft by the Federal Government.
E.O. #11004 - Seizure of all housing and finance authorities, to establish forced relocation. Designates areas to be abandoned "unsafe," establishes new locations for populations, relocates communities, build new housing with public funds. (Economic problems I ask?)
E.O #11005 - Seizure of all railroads, inland waterways and storage facilities, both private and public by the Federal Government.
E.O. #11051 - Provides the Office of Emergency Planning (F.E.M.A.), complete authorization to put the above orders into effect in times of increased tension or economic or financial crisis.
Thank You

Good topic, we do have a discussion very similar to the one you're proposing. check out "How much should Americans consider the impact of their political choices in foreign countries?" in Daily Discussions..
International War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague
What is the status of cases there? What is the process for indictments against US war criminals in Iraq and Afghanistan for violations of Geneva Conventions and other crimes? What should we expect to see happen after the next Presidential election?
Considering the horrible results of the U.S. preemptive attack/invasion of Iraq in 2003, should the U.N. clearly declare that any country that carrys out a preemptive attack on another country be condemned and considered a rogue country?
If not, should private citizens be allowed to carry out preemptive attacks on other private citizens?
without any crediable evidence that would exonerate the usa govt. as a suspect in the 9/11 attack, why don't we here from arab groups claiming they suspect the usa in the attack as an excuse to invade the middle east?
I know over the last seven years the news media in America has given George Bush a pass on all manor of issues, never asking the tough questions, when at any other time in history the media would have been thrilled to cut George down.
Once again I see a similar pattern emerging around the election process, when one candidate is damned and the other is not scrutinized and given a free pass
My question is, at what point will the media be placed under the lens of scrutiny and when will the pursuit of truth be the medias focus
I just did a search looking for anything negative about Obama and could not find anything negative, my question is, is that real? Is Obama the perfect candidate or are we witnessing something to good to be true?
the other candidates we get to see come equiped with warts and all
Will Hilary Clinton talk about her husband's cheating? She brings up everyone's past and present. If she becomes elected as President, will she fight terriorism or agree to terms with terriorists?
People say that in Iraq, Men treat their women that way is because of custom? Why they don't go and raise voice for women? Where are women activists nowadays to help them?
The discussions on this board are getting a little sparse and long in tooth. You haven't been setting out new topics very much, and even though some insightful comments dribble in, I feel you are not stimulating us the way you should be doing. I suggest that you launch some new topics very soon. To help, I suggest
* Given the collapse of the Iraqi government's assault on Shiite militias in Basra and the intense counterpunches it generated, what does the president's characterization of this as a "defining moment" mean? What will happen now that the Iraqi forces have been stalemated by the militias? Which groups in Iraq will benefit, which will suffer?
* What can we realistically expect from the next U.S. president that can change our relationship with Iraq? How could the U.S. be expected to ever give up its huge array of bases there under any circumstances, even if the president wanted to do so? Who is actually making the policies we are following in Iraq, and how would s change of administration affect those actors?
Some of us really want to know this stuff. We can chat about it, but how about you go digging?
