In May 2006 the U.S. Senate approved the construction of fencing along the southern border with Mexico. The move formed part of an immigration bill which is currently stalled in Congress. Here and there the construction of the fence runs into local resistance.

You're in denial. What's going on at our southern border is the main stream media's biggest secret. Killings, rapes drugs. Borders patrol agents being fired at, run over, killed. The main stream media will not report what's happening. If you think illegal immigratio is so good for this country than you need to look at the southwestern states and the impact it has had on them. California is going broke. Forty percent of the inmate population in California consits of illegal immigrants. Their social service agencies are going broke, hospitals are closing, over crowded schools.
you are wrong most of californias inmate population are african americans yet white people are scared to say anything about blacks because the are scared of lawsuits and being called racist. Most crimes in the US are commited by blacks, blacks take advantage of every government program healthcare,food,and disability even though they do not need them. But just because they are black nobody bothers to see if they really need them. They do not want to work and have kids that they do not support and we all have to pay for them. What would you say about that, maybe your problem is elsewere but you decide to take your anger out on hardworking people.

Very well said. The only wall, fence or what ever you want to call it that has come close to working is the Korean DMZ. But people still die there. If both goverment would work together I'm sure there would be a solution, both Jobs and Money. It's a win win
if the fence is built, how are the crackheads in the US going to get their supply? if anything, the Mexicans are the smart ones for only selling their drugs to dumbos in the US and not using it!
The DHS concedes that the fence won't stop illegal immigration; it will only slow the illegals long enough to give the border patrol more time to nab them. Build a 20' high fence, there will be a sale on 22' high ladders. Better to invest in more ground patrol and virtual fencing. Use that money on personnel rather than iron and steel.
Don't hire illegals and they will go back home. Make it a crime to rent, hire or allow the children of illegals to attend school, which us taxpayers pay for. I want a refund of my taxes waisted on illegals..
I agree! If they can't get work, and a place to live, they WILL go back home, where they belong. Cities have tried passing laws that make it illegal to rent to undovumented people, but the courts strike these new laws down. People, stop being so lazy! Get up off your behinds, clean your own houses, mow you own lawns, and do your own work. You'll save money, be healthier, and you won't be supporting the invasion of illegal immigrants.
As a side note, I think the laws have to change, so that children born in this country, to people here illegally, do not automatically become American Citizens. That would make the children inelligible for benefits, and the parents wouldn't be able to afford these large families they ave!

They can always go visit them or go back with them to Mexico. BUILD THE FENCE FROM THE EAST COAST TO THE WEST COAST! AND MAKE IT DEEPER AND HIGHER! And arm the patrols, and place National Guards to keep illegal immigrants out. Do whatever extreme measures are necessary.

I TOTALLY AGREE! Don't hire illegals, rent to them, or allow their children to go to our schools, and don't give them money and help for healthcare. It "IS" a CRIME that they are here! That's why they are called ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS! Until they can go through the LEGAL Channels to become nationalized AMERICANS, then they should be kept out and stay out.
