Have had great luck at stopping a cold before it gets started by drink a cup of hot tea with meals and a glass of water after meals for hydration and to wash tongue. Hold one teaspoon of dry (not sweet) red wine on tongue for about 15 seconds then swish and swallow.

Other medications that could be part of the prevention formula include fish oil (no chapped lips), C, and a multivitamin.

Well, this takes work in the summer, but it's outstanding. When you go blueberry or blackberry picking, you mash a large quantity of the fruit, drain it in a bag or in cheesecloth, add 1/4 c honey for every pint of juice, and cook it down until it's thick. It may be thick and bitter, that's OK! Then you put it in a canning jar, as for jelly, set the lid(s), and keep it in a cool place.

When that horrible cold comes on, you put a large spoonful, with more honey, in a cup or mug and fill the cup with very hot water. Then sip the warm goodness into your system ...
