Tell us your Signs of Spring!

Re: Tell us your Signs of Spring!
From Randolph. Our One Sign of Spring was the three days of full sunshine, beginning on Easter Day. Of course, then the weather gods got back at us by dumping 5-6 inches of snow on us today! However, Spring will happen!

Canada Geese and Snow Geese
This evening on my way back from work, the field at the junction of River Rd (117) and North Williston Rd was full of geese. There was the usual crowd of canada geese, but this time I also saw a huge group of snow geese, and I have never seen them on the ground myself before!

Rainbows in Williston
Last night, as I was driving home around 7pm, there were rainbows all over Williston. I took these photos with my cell phone camera on North Williston Road... I wish I had a better camera with me. There were lots of folks outside in there yards just enjoying the view and people (like me) who stopped and got out of their cars.

These 2 images are of the same rainbow. Unfortunately I couldn't get the whole thing in 1 picture. It was quite the sight.

Amphibians in Monkton and New Haven
Amphibians were moving for the first time this year in Monkton and New Haven. Spotted salamanders, wood frogs, peepers, newts, and blue-spotted salamanders were all moving from their overwintering sites to the breeding pools last night in Monkton (across the Monkton Vergennes Rd) and in New Haven (across North Street).

Signs of Spring!
Roadside snowbanks are melting away to reveal the usual swath of mailbox damage. Every spring I take photos of the best ones. This one's my favorite so far. (Photo taken in Huntington)

Re: Tell us your Signs of Spring!
Yesterday afternoon, I saw a guy walking north on Route 5 in Norwich and he wasn't wearing a shirt! He was carrying his coat and shirt, walking on the sunny side. He was either a sign of spring or a little too exuberant.
