Tell us which piece better represents Spring in VT, and why, and you may receive 2 concert tickets

Springtime welcomes the return of migrating birds, the sweet start of sugaring season, and the unwavering optimism of green things poking through the mud. It also brings the annual drama of rivers breaking up, ice jams, late-season blizzards, and frost-heaved roads.

So, which piece of classical music better represents this volatile season: Vivaldi's "Spring" Concerto, or Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring"? You decide! Choose one, and then tell us why you believe that piece of music best represents spring in Vermont. VPR Classical will play both pieces on the afternoon of Friday, 4/18, and share some of your comments on the air. The first twenty complete responses will receive a pair of tickets to see Zuill Bailey and Simone Dinnerstein in concert at Chandler Music Hall in Randolph on the evening of Friday, April 25th. (Entries must be received by 7pm on Thursday, April 17th to be eligible for the tickets.)

Click here to listen to samples of the 2 pieces: Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring" and Vivaldi's "Spring" Violin Concerto in E, Op. 8

Getting By in a Minimum or Low Wage Job
