I had an opportunity to touch the Tree of Hope at the Apollo a few years ago. I was working PR for Morrissey when he did his 5 night series there, and we had to go through a special orientation to the venue. At the end they let us touch the Tree of Hope on stage.

I would also say seeing Godspeed You! Black Emperor for 4 nights in a row in New York a few years ago would rank right up at the top of my memorable experiences.

i was in a snowball fight with the Kinks in 1976 when i was 18 ... i went to an after-party somewhere in boston, and someone came in and said that the Kinks were at the Rat http://en....athskeller(a.k.a. the Rathskeller, the now-defunct bar that was the center of the local punk scene in Boston at the time) ...

i climbed into a car with some people i\'d never met before and went to Kenmore square. we waited around the Rat\'s back door for a while and eventually the Kinks came out. they were monosyllabic and seemed to be impatient to get away from us. we said goodbye, but a minute after they\'d walked away, i felt a \'plop\' on the back of my coat ... we were under fire! my little group of new acquaintances exchanged snoball volleys with Ray Davies et al for a bit ... whooping and hollering in the middle of the night in an alley behind commonwealth avenue.
